Alejandra Hauser
Todas las cosas bellas
3 July – 3 August 2026
Hotel Medinblu
Via Demetrio Tripepi, 98
Reggio Calabria
Raised in a conservative environment in Mexico City, Alejandra Hauser could not wait to grow up and move to the other side of the world. And that is exactly what she did. At the age of 23, she packed her bags and left for what was meant to be a nine-month stay. After all, home was only a flight away.
Since she was a child, she has been terrified of change. She wanted to stop everything - to photograph and, in doing so, hold on to every moment and every person, keeping them safe so she could return to them whenever she needed. She has always wished things could remain the same.
Over time, she learned that this is not how life works.
You leave, you change, you evolve, you break, and you try again. All the things you leave behind change too. Sometimes they break apart as well.
After years spent dreaming of escape, she returned to a place that existed only in her memories. She felt homeless, suspended between two worlds, neither of which felt entirely like home. She began traveling constantly. As she had done as a child, she turned to photography to find her bearing in a world that felt unfamiliar.
Without realizing it, she began collecting the things that made her smile. Small moments of beauty. Fragments of belonging. Todas las Cosas Bellas.
Through this work, she is coming to terms with where she comes from: all that she has lost, and all that she has loved. Everthing that hurts, and everything that heals.
Slowly, she has began to see home looking back at her from every corner of the world. In places where she never expected to find it. In countries far from her own. In the small, beautiful things that have accompanied her wherever she went.

The exhibition is co-curated by Teodora Malavenda and Sara Emma Cervo, Visual Editor at Vanity Fair.

Alejandra Hauser developed an intimate relationship with photography from an early age, using it as a means of building a visual archive of her memories. At the age of fourteen, she discovered photography as an art form and began studying analogue photography in both Mexico City and Barcelona. She later studied cinematography and, in 2011, moved to Paris to complete her education.
Today, she lives and works between Paris and Mexico City, collaborating as a commercial and editorial photographer while simultaneously pursuing with her own artistic practice. Her work has been exhibited in Mexico, France and Italy.
Strongly influenced by cinema and by her experiences in Mexico, her photographic practice focuses on creating intimate and vibrant images characterised by rich colours, natural light, and a particular sensitivity to the emotional and narrative dimensions of everyday life.
