This open call has been launched in partnership with GAL Terre Locridee che sostiene economicamente la realizzazione del progetto, e con il Museo e Parco Archeologico Nazionale di Locri Epizefiri che ospita la mostra e ne accompagna il percorso curatoriale.
THE VENUE
The exhibition will be held at the Casino Macrì Museum Complex, within the Locri Epizefiri National Archaeological Park, one of the largest archaeological sites in Calabria.
Il Casino Macrì è composto da una masseria ottocentesca e da due case coloniche costruite sui resti di un complesso termale romano privato. Inserito in un sistema articolato di percorsi archeologici e museali, lo spazio si configura come luogo di attraversamento in relazione diretta con il paesaggio e con i flussi del pubblico.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 2 August to 2 September 2026.

PROJECT EXPECTATIONS
Ci interessano progetti che attivino lo spazio che li ospita, considerandolo come una condizione fisica, percettiva e temporale entro cui l’opera prende forma.
Ci interessano ricerche che interroghino le nozioni di distanza, prossimità, confine e attraversamento, attivandole in forme visive ed esperienze situate.
La fotografia è intesa come punto di partenza di una pratica ibrida aperta al dialogo con altri linguaggi delle arti visive.

WHO CAN APPLY
This call is open to artists working in the field of visual arts, with a practice in photography and contemporary image-based languages.
Applications are open to artists aged 18 or over residing in Europe.
Unpublished projects or projects currently in development are eligible.

THE PROJECT PROVIDES
- Production of the exhibition (including prints, display materials and installation)
- Curatorial development of the project in consultation with the selected artist
- Presentation in a museum exhibition space within a nationally significant institutional context
- Coverage of travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses for the opening
- Inclusion in the official programme of Edizione 2026 and related communication activities

HOW TO APPLY
Applications must be submitted exclusively in digital format.
To apply, the following materials are required:
- 10-20 images representing the project
- Statement (max 2,000 characters) with a conceptual description and development
- Short biography
- Curriculum vitae
- Website and/or social media links (if applicable)
- Receipt of payment of the registration fee
The materials must be compiled into a single digital submission and sent to:

Files must be clearly named and organised.

PARTICIPATION FEE
There is a registration fee of €20, intended as a contribution to the organisational costs of Ulteriore APS.
The fee is non-refundable.

- Are the author of the works submitted and hold the relevant rights
- garantire l’originalità del progetto e l’assenza di violazioni di diritti di terzi
- Accept the terms and conditions of the present open call
- Are open to develop the project in consultation with the curators

TITOLARITÀ DELLE OPERE E DELLE STAMPE
Copyright and intellectual property rights to the works remain with the artist, in accordance with Law No. 633 of 1941 and subsequent amendments.
The prints produced as part of the project are intended for exhibition purposes and, at the end of the exhibition, will remain in the possession of GAL Terre Locridee, which will assume responsibility for their maintenance, conservation and public access, in line with its institutional and cultural objectives.
The transfer of ownership of the physical prints to the GAL does not, under any circumstances, imply the transfer of copyright, which remains entirely with the artist.
Any use of the works other than for the purposes of preservation, exhibition and cultural promotion must be the subject of a separate written agreement with the artist.
