THE VENUE

The exhibition will be hosted by the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Reggio Calabria, one of Italy’s leading museums and a key reference point for the study of Magna Graecia”.


The exhibition will be open to the public from July 16 to August 6, 2026.

PROJECT EXPECTATIONS

Projects that examine the relationship between the visual arts and communication, exploring the ways in which images construct narratives, perceptions and imaginaries.

We are particularly interested in research that explores:

  • The relationship between image and language
  • Contemporary forms of visual storytelling
  • The role of communication in shaping our gaze
  • The relationship between photography, text and contemporary visual media

WHO CAN APPLY

This call is open to artists working in the field of contemporary visual arts and culture, interested in exploring the relationships between image, language and communication.

Applications are open to artists aged 18 or over residing in Europe.
Unpublished projects or projects currently in development are eligible.

THE PROJECT PROVIDES

  • Production of the exhibition (including prints, display materials and installation)
  • Curatorial development of the project in consultation with the selected artist
  • Presentation in a museum space of national significance
  • Coverage of travel, accommodation, and subsistence expenses for the opening
  • Inclusion in the official programme of Edizione 2026 and related communication activities

HOW TO APPLY

Applications must be submitted exclusively in digital format.

To apply, the following materials are required:

  • 10-20 images representing the project
  • Statement (max 2,000 characters) with a conceptual description and development
  • Short biography
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Website and/or social media links (if applicable)
  • Receipt of payment of the registration fee

There is a registration fee of €20, intended as a contribution to the organisational costs of Ulteriore APS.
The fee is non-refundable.
